Sugars
Currently, about 110 countries produce sugar from either cane or beet, and eight countries produce sugar from both cane and beet. Sugarcane, on average, accounts for nearly 80% of global sugar production. 1WEC is a global leader in raw and refined sugar origination, merchandizing and marketing, and networked with the largest sugar millers / refiners and distributors in the World. No matter your sugar requirements – raw materials ( sugar cane / sugar beet ) , raw sugar, granulated sugar, refined sugar, liquid sucrose – 1WEC has the right product to deliver the taste and texture you demand. Plus, our renowned customer service staff ensures your satisfaction every step of the way. We have a strong, strategic network of business partners to supply you with the sugar you need (see below).
- At 1WEC we trade raw and white sugar, bulk and bag, for shipment in containers and vessels. We trade primarily from our office located in NYC, Houston, Mumbai and Delhi and have sales & distribution activities in India and China. Additionally our network of 1WEC locations and teams supports our trading offices, suppliers, and customers around the world. We originate sugar from the world’s leading sugar producing countries and regions, including Brazil, Thailand, India, Australia and Central America. which support our ability to deliver differentiated services that match customers’ specific logistical and quality requirements. 1WEC through its partners operates an integrated sugar business across the entire value chain from sugar cane and beet plantations to the sweeteners aisle in supermarkets. In between our partners operate sugar mills, cogeneration plants, ethanol distilleries, and sugar refineries across the globe, linking key origins and destinations through a market-leading merchandising team headquartered in New York, Houston and Mumbai.
Milling – The milling of sugar cane produces raw sugar and also by-products such as bagasse and molasses. We are networked with the largest mills in the world which as a result of economies of scale, the prime location of and surrounding sugarcane / sugarbeet suppliers, are able to operate milling operations in a cost effective manner. These mills generate their own electricity by burning bagasse – the fibrous material left over from crushed sugar cane or sugar beet. Excess electricity is either used internally or sold to the national power grid. Molasses, another by-product of sugar milling, is used as an additive for livestock feed and to produce ethanol.
Refining – The refining of sugar produces food-grade products such as white sugar, brown sugar, caster sugar and syrups. The sugar refining process involves the removal of impurities and colour from raw sugar and the further refinement of sugar crystals. We supply a broad range of high-quality industrial and consumer products which are distributed in both bulk and packaged forms. We are networked with largest sugar refiners globally with operations in Australia, India, Indonesia, Morocco and New Zealand.
We ship and distribute sugar to customers, industrials, distributors and end-users through offices in Americas, APAC, EMEA and other consuming countries worldwide.
- Refined Sugar – ICUMSA-45 Sugar is a most Highly Refined form of Sugar. ICUMSA-45 Sugar has a Sparkling White Color, and is the type most often sold direct to Consumers. It is suitable for Human Consumption and use in a wide range of Food applications. It is perpetually in High demand as it is the safest form of Sugar, due to the fact that the refining process by which it is created removes the Bacteria and Contaminants often present in raw sugars.
- Icumsa 45 white sugar, dissolves easily, to stay white and refined is added chemical additives such as sulfur that leaves it white and flavorful.
- This eliminates vitamins and minerals thus removing nutrients.
- Granulometry: very fine.
- Color white

- Organic Sugar – Clear sugar without chemical additive since production in sugar cane, washed with water and centrifuged so that the granulation remains thick and uniform.
- Granulometry : Fine.
- Color: Light Brown.
- Demerara sugar that does not receive any chemical additives and passes through a slight refinement, predominating the high nutritional value.
- Granulometry : Fine.
- Color: Light Brown.
- Sugar extracted from the sugarcane juice; is a raw, dark and moist sugar, thus conserving its nutrients calcium, iron and mineral salts.
- The brown sugar does not go through the refinement phase.
- Granulometry : Very Fine
- Color : Brown / Caramel
- Melado or Molasses is the syrupy liquid obtained by the evaporation of the sugarcane juice by suitable technological processes. Molasses is the liquid obtained as the manufacturing residue of crystallized sugar, molasses or the refining of raw sugar.
- Creamy : Thick Liquid.
- Color: Brown / Caramel.
- Sugar Isomalt produced by beet and not by sugar cane, natural flavor, color similar to sugar cane and used in the production of candy.
- Granulometry : Fine
- Color : White.
- Sugar with fine crystals and white, careful refinement to obtain mini crystals, addition of rice starch, corn or calcium phosphate with this process the mini crystals do not come back to join.
